Tragedy on provincial road 27, between Tortolì and Villagrande.
Three Egyptian men , two aged 33 and one aged 36, died in an accident that occurred at 11:10 a.m. today near the S'Othai bridge, two kilometers downstream from the town. All residents of Villagrande, their names are: Thamer Hamouda Ramzy Shehabeld, Ahmed Tafrih Ghandoyr Ahmed Sharweda, and Rizk Mohamed, the latter being 36.
The victims are three workers from a Pavia company who had arrived on the island a few days earlier, where they had begun work on a construction site, the bridge over the Figu Niedda River . Those who live nearby remember them as "hard workers, fast and professional."
They were traveling towards Tortolì when the driver lost control of the car, a Golf 4, which fell 10 meters into the ravine.
On site were the Fire Brigade teams from the Lanusei and Tortoli detachments, the specialized SAF and SFA (river flood rescue) team from the Nuoro headquarters and the divers airlifted by the helicopter of the Sardinia Flight Department of the Fire Brigade.
The bodies were recovered, not without difficulty.
The Carabinieri are carrying out the investigation, along with the on-duty prosecutor from the Lanusei Public Prosecutor's Office, Valentina Vitolo, and the coroner Danilo Fois.
