The anti Covid vaccination campaign on the island continues strongly. And Sardinia is the first region of Italy for vaccinations in the age group between 12 and 19 years.
76.8% of young people residing on the island (84 thousand out of an audience of 109 thousand people) have in fact completed the vaccination cycle. In the last week there is also an overall increase in the administration of the first doses (+ 47%) which thus pass from an average of 500 daily inoculations (data recorded in the week from 8 to 20 November) to the current 740, with a peak recorded November 26 in the hubs of Cagliari (242 doses against a daily average of around 150) and Sassari (260 doses out of an average of 160 in the previous week).
The administration of booster doses is also growing: a total of 144 thousand third doses administered in Sardinia, with an average of 10 thousand daily inoculations compared to 4,500 the previous week. Currently, the peak of third-dose administrations was recorded on November 26, with 11 thousand doses.
"Sardinia - declares the president of the Region, Christian Solinas - continues to achieve important results in the vaccination campaign against Covid and we will continue putting in place all that is necessary to defend the health of citizens and our economy at this particular moment. The third doses are increasing and we are working to strengthen the entire hub system. Furthermore, we are already planning the actions to be taken pending the green light to vaccinate the little ones, in the 5 to 11 year-old age bracket. The response of our children is very important. Young people".
"In this new phase of the campaign - continues Solinas - the Sardinians are responding well. This is the right path. The virus is not yet defeated and the new variants still represent a threat. Sardinia has already suffered too much from the weight of the pandemic and this it is a battle that concerns each of us ".
