In Sardinia, yesterday alone, nearly 19,000 doses of anti-Covid vaccines were administered. To be precise, there were 18,917 and among these there are 16,168 third doses and 1,368 first doses. This is the highest figure since the beginning of the year and is close to the highest averages recorded on the island in the period between May and July 2021.

About 80 per cent of Sardinians have completed the primary vaccination course and a total of over 3 million doses have been administered since the beginning of the campaign.

As for supplies, 20,500 doses of Moderna, 37,440 Pfizer doses and 18,000 pediatric doses from the same pharmaceutical company are expected today.

"The vaccine - says the president of the Region, Christian Solinas - remains our strongest weapon against the virus, today more than ever. Our health system continues to record important numbers in this campaign and we will continue to do our part with the utmost commitment to counter the pandemic and guarantee the safety of all and in particular of the most fragile ".

"Once again - adds the regional health councilor, Mario Nieddu - the virus is proving to be a dangerous enemy. In the face of a surge in infections, due to variants, the vaccine has significantly reduced the impact on hospitals. The epidemiological picture is monitored with the utmost attention. We must not underestimate the spread of the infection and continue to take all the indispensable measures against the spread of the virus ".
