On the day in which there are over 1000 first doses and a new boom of "boosters" (almost 13,700) in Sardinia, the Gimbe Foundation highlights that the island population that has completed the vaccination cycle is equal to 79.2% (Italy average 77 , 9%) to which to add a further 2.6% (Italian average 3.1%) who, on the other hand, only has the first dose.

According to the government report, there are still 256,452 Sardinians not yet vaccinated on the island, including 81,849 children between 5 and 11 years of age for whom the campaign with the new pediatric anti Covid serums started a week ago, exceeding the 3 thousand doses already administered in this age group.

Residents vaccinated with two doses are currently 1,265,773 and, according to some estimates, at this rate 80% herd immunity can be achieved before New Year's Eve.

The coverage rate for the Sardinian population over 12 years (double dose) is currently equal to 85.1% (75.7% if we also count the over 5s who, however, cannot yet have the second dose due to the recent initiation of inoculations), while the coverage rate with third dose is 49.3%, against an Italian average of 51.2%.
