Moments of fear during the transfer of a prisoner from the Cagliari-Uta prison to another penitentiary facility.

The man, of foreign origin, in fact attacked the prison police officers, also attacking some doctors present.

The police managed to stop him, but they were injured and had to seek hospital treatment.
"The bulletin is very serious: an officer with fractured ribs and a 21-day prognosis and two other police officers discharged after three days of treatment", reports Luca Fais, secretary for Sardinia of the Autonomous Union of Penitentiary Police.

Fais himself adds: "What happened is the result of the presence of unmanageable inmates who continue to destabilize the order and security of the Cagliari prison . We hope for a strong signal from the Superintendent, Domenico Giuseppe Arena, who has had the opportunity to see first-hand the serious situation of the Cagliari institute, among the most problematic in Sardinia."

"Every day something happens in Italian prisons - comments Donato Capece, secretary general of Sappe - and it has almost become ordinary to report what happens behind bars. We can't go on like this: it's a continuous and daily drip."
