The little fox rescued yesterday by the Forestry Corps during a large fire in Ussana, in the "Su Tistivillu" area, has been saved.

The animal was in the flames, entangled in a metal net and terrified: luckily it was seen by the operators, on site to put out the fire with two helicopters, the staff of the Dolianova Forestry Station, the Gauf of Cagliari, the Barracellare Company of Ussana and the volunteers of the Civil Protection.

"Puma", as the rescuers called her, was injured on her paws and head. Rescued by forestry personnel, the fox was transferred to the Monastir Wildlife Recovery Center of the Forestas agency.

After the veterinary examination, it was found that he had severe burns on his face and other minor ones on his chest, abdomen and limbs . The fox was admitted to the Center and subjected to intravenous drips and specific therapies for burns. Currently his conditions are stable.

«The Forestry Corps and the Forestas Agency, as part of their institutional mission, are committed to the protection and rescue of protected species in difficulty – it is recalled in a note – operating on the front line for the protection of wild animals».
