Alfredo Piras, 74, was found lifeless on Wednesday evening in his home in Usini , who rose to the fore in 2005 when he killed the musician Paolo Grossi in his home in Campo dei Fiori in Rome with 50 stab wounds .
The man's death occurred of natural causes, probably a heart attack .
For the murder of Rome Piras served 12 years in prison in Orvieto.
In 2017 he returned to his native Usini, where the community had helped him to integrate, offering him various jobs to live on.
However, in 2021 Alfredo Piras was accused of stalking a 17-year-old (later acquitted by the Gup) and in the same year he was invited by the commissioner "to behave in accordance with the law", again following reports on him.
