Usini: 16-year-old falls from horse and hits head, seriously injured

There were moments of fear this evening in the Usini countryside, scene of a serious horseback riding accident involving a local 16-year-old girl.

It happened around 6.30 pm, in the plain in the Sos Paris area , on the outskirts of the town, a few metres from the father's privately owned land, used to raise some quadrupeds.

In the afternoon, the girl had decided to go for a horse ride with a friend , also a minor, when, for reasons yet to be ascertained, the animal began to get restless and then went wild, throwing the young woman off her horse. She lost her balance and ended up on the ground, suffering a serious head injury.

She lost consciousness for several minutes after the fall. Emergency medical personnel arrived on the scene with a non-medicalized ambulance and the Areus air ambulance, with the medical team on board. Given the seriousness of the situation, the girl was rushed to the Santissima Annunziata Civil Hospital in Sassari, where she is being monitored. Fortunately, her life is not in danger. Carabinieri from the Usini station were also on the scene to determine the circumstances of the accident.
