A rat infestation has occurred in the medical clinic on Via Marconi in Uras, which houses both the emergency medical service and the Ascot (healthcare) service for residents without a primary care physician. Doctors reported the presence of rats to the local Carabinieri station and also to Mayor Samuele Fenu, who today issued an order requiring the immediate relocation of the medical center to the premises on Via Roma 9 , a building that formerly housed the middle school.

This is for reasons of hygiene, health, and public safety, and to ensure the continuity of medical services. Mayor Fenu doesn't mince his words when accusing the Oristano Local Health Authority of never responding to calls for help . The order, also sent to the Oristano Local Health Authority, the province, the prefecture, the local Carabinieri station, and the local police of the Union of Municipalities of Terralbese, states that "due to numerous unsuccessful attempts, it was not possible to contact the Local Health Authority representatives ." This is why the Municipality of Uras, despite the building being owned by the Local Health Authority, has asked the province, specifically the rodent control service, to intervene to clean up the building . Therefore, until the problem is resolved, residents must go to the facility on Via Roma. A sign explaining the problem and directions has been posted on the door of the premises on Via Marconi, where other problems have long been reported by the municipal administration, such as the small space available to accommodate residents and the presence of architectural barriers.
