Two Jack Russells were beaten and then hanged from a tree in Fighters Square in Siurgus Donigala .

The macabre gesture was discovered this morning, when the carcasses of the dogs hanging from a branch were noticed by some passers-by . There are also traces of blood on the ground.

The carabinieri of the town station are investigating the incident, in collaboration with colleagues from the Dolianova company.

According to initial information, the two animals were free to circulate on the streets of the town. They do not have microchips, although the owner is known.

It is not clear whether the terrible violence was perpetrated to offend the owner - who lives in another area of the country - or whether someone decided to "punish" with death some unwelcome action on the part of the dogs.
