The first specimen is three months old, 9 centimeters long and weighs just under one hundred grams. In short, a very small Caretta cart, which ended up on the Marinella beach in La Maddalena, probably because it was driven by cold currents. A woman, after noticing it, alerted the experts of the Tavolara Marine Protected Area who in turn then handed it over to the Cres specialists.
Another small turtle was rescued in Marceddì by the clam fisherman Marco Altea. Due to some injuries to his fins, which were trapped in nylon bags and ropes, he swam with difficulty. Renamed "Arsella", it is 25 centimeters long and weighs almost two kilos.
The third, rescued by the mooring boat Giovanni Varrucciu in Porto Rotondo and called “Giovannina”, is 4 years old, 25 kilos in weight and 60 centimeters in length. She still had nylon ropes around her neck which caused a deep wound. The mover called the Forest Service.
