His name was Giuseppe Torcia and he was a 55-year-old Roman tourist who died in the terrible frontal impact with a pick-up that took place this morning on State Road 389, in the territory of Buddusò.

The victim was on vacation in Sardinia. On the saddle of his motorbike, at kilometer 43,800, in the locality of Parco di Loelle, he collided with the other vehicle, which was coming in the opposite direction.

Unfortunately, the resuscitation attempts by the 118 doctors were useless for Torcia: his lifeless body remained on the asphalt, covered by a white sheet.

The road was reopened shortly before 1pm: traffic had been banned to allow surveys and the safety of the roadway.

The exact dynamics of the accident have yet to be reconstructed.
