The prosecutor of Tempio Pausania Ilaria Corbelli asked for four sentences in the trial for the collapse of the road to Monte Pino, which took place in November 2013, which caused the death of Bruno Fiore, his wife Sebastiana Brundu and his consuocera Maria Loriga, swallowed up by the subsidence of the land while they were passing with their car in that stretch of roadway.
In detail, Corbelli solicited two years and eight months for Pasquale Russo, manager of the road system of the former Province of Olbia-Tempio, and for Giuseppe Mela, manager of the road system of the Province of Sassari; one year and four months for Francesco Prunas and Graziano Sini, technicians from the former Province of Olbia-Tempio.
The public prosecution, before the court presided over by Judge Camilla Tesi, retraced what was accauto on November 18, 2013, underlining the conclusions drawn by the experts on the causes of the road subsidence: mainly a poorly conceived, poorly implemented project and insufficient maintenance to guarantee the facility safety.
The requests of the prosecution were joined by the lawyers of the civil party Nicoletta Mani and Maurizio Mani for the relatives of Maria Loriga, Fabio Diomedi for Veronica Gelsomino, the only survivor of the tragedy, and Massimo Delogu for the relatives of the Fiore spouses.
The hearing was adjourned to January 14 for the replies of the defenses.
