"I went to bring comfort to the parents of Ythan and Patrick, there are no words at the moment for their enormous pain, if not the closeness and affection of all of us ." Thus the parish priest of the church of San Domenico Savio, Don Stefano Paba , who every day welcomed Patrick to the oratory where he often went with his inseparable friend Ythan . «Patrick's parents told me how important the oratory was for their son and it was also important for us to have him every day: you felt him before you saw him and he was always available when asked to do something - continued the parish priest -. With Ythan they loved challenges, it was their way of making themselves loved."

Don Paba then talks about the dangers of the neighborhood between the ruined house in front of the oratory and the lack of services in the area : «Above the parish there are various commercial activities and therefore the area, via Don Bosco, has received greater consideration: a very busy road and perfect lighting. Here in the lower part where there is the oratory, the parish and the sports fields and where a lot should be invested because there are structures where children are educated, instead everything is missing: in the evening there is no lighting, the road is dirt and narrow, it is very dangerous to go out along this stretch."

«I have reported the situation several times but nothing has happened - concluded the parish priest -. Even the presence of this dilapidated house and its neglect had to be reported for years, unfortunately we underestimated everyone."

And while the comings and goings of friends, relatives and acquaintances of the two young people continue in front of the ruined farmhouse on the outskirts of Nuoro, now under seizure, the Nuoro Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation into double manslaughter . There are 14 people under investigation : they are the heirs, co-owners of the land on which the house stands, abandoned for decades , without any fence.

The suspects will now be able to appoint a party expert in view of the autopsy on the bodies of the two boys, which will be carried out on Thursday at the San Francesco hospital, while the funeral should take place on Friday.
