Tragedy in Mogoro: A scooter victim dies upon arrival at the hospital.

Valerio Piras, 63, died shortly after arriving at the San Gavino hospital. He was found unconscious last night on the provincial road 44 to Mogoro, which he was traveling on a scooter.

The tragedy occurred at kilometer marker 21. The Cagliari emergency operations center had received a distress call from the Carabinieri of the Mogoro branch, who responded to a report from passing motorists. According to the limited information that has emerged, no other vehicles were involved. It has not been ruled out that Piras was taken ill.

The crew of an ambulance rescued the sixty-three-year-old and, after stabilizing him, rushed him to the emergency room of the San Gavino hospital, where his heart stopped beating, despite attempts at resuscitation.
