They sailed aboard two small boats between North Africa and Sardinia, despite the sea agitated by the sirocco wind: thirty-five Algerians (30 men, 2 women and 3 minors) were intercepted this night around 2.30 on the beach of Porto Pino, in the territory of Sant'Anna Arresi.
The rescue and initial identification intervention was carried out by the carabinieri of the Calasetta station and by the officers of the Carbonia police station.
All were found to be in good health. After the first operations on site, the migrants were accompanied to the first reception center (Cpa) in Monastir.
