During checks on passengers boarding ferries at the port of Olbia Isola Bianca, the Security agents of the Port System Authority of the Sea of Sardinia stopped a family of Italian tourists, leaving for Civitavecchia, who were returning from their holidays with about twenty medium-sized stones from the beaches of Pula.

“Souvenirs” transported in the trunk of their car in defiance of the ban on taking them which is in force on all the beaches of Sardinia.

Officials from the Customs and Monopolies Agency of Sassari also intervened on the spot, and imposed the appropriate sanctions on the families: they risk a fine of up to 3,000 euros.

The “marine finds” were instead seized and will be kept at the SOT in Olbia, waiting to be relocated to the beaches from which they were removed.
