Fear passed in the countryside of Siniscola , in the locality of San Giacomo, where this morning a large fire started from the edges of the 131 Dcn mobilized the regional fire fighting machine.

To block the flames driven by the strong wind (the mistral which tended to turn towards the west) two Canadair took off from the Olbia base.

Only a helicopter from the Lanusei Forestry Corps was added, the only one in the regional fleet capable of flying with the sustained gusts of this morning: all the other aircraft in the fleet - available in Farcana and Alà dei Sardi - are due stay on the ground.

According to a first estimate by the Forestry Corps, only a few hectares have gone to ashes thanks to the intervention of the planes.
