First a strategic plan for Quartese tourism must be drawn up, involving operators in the sector and networking with the other Municipalities of Southern Sardinia. Then the tourist tax will be introduced, probably from 2024.

A novelty that emerged during the last meeting of the Municipal Council, on the occasion of the motion presented by the councilor of Cambiamo Quartu Francesco Piludu - then transformed into an agenda shared by the entire classroom in via Porcu - which in fact commits the Giunta to draw up a plan for the revitalization of the city in terms of tourism.

Among the interventions in the Council that of the FdI representative Michele Pisano, who proposed "the institution of the tourist tax, in order to immediately reinvest the resources in everything connected to tourism", he said addressing the Giunta and the rest of the civic assembly. «A courageous initiative, which does not affect the residents and favors policies for sustainable and welcoming tourism. If we get to work on this front immediately, the results could come soon».

By 2023 the Municipality plans to define a strategy for the tourist enhancement of Quartu, in 2024 the introduction of the new tax which has long since become a reality in many other Municipalities. «I absolutely agree with Pisano's proposal - Mayor Graziano Milia said during his brief speech - naturally on the basis of a strategic tourism plan that takes market rules into account. Only then could we discuss with greater tranquility the introduction of a possible tourist tax, of course», the mayor specified, «with the commitment that it is linked only and exclusively to the use of those resources to implement the strategic plan that will have to be defined and shared with the different stakeholders».
