The tour of Sardinia on two wheels to raise awareness among municipalities on environmental issues

The team of the "Route 377" project, also supported by the Italian Touring Club, which sees the cyclist Paolo Massenti and the musician Sebastiano Dessanay, made a stop in Burcei, engaged in the tour of the 377 villages of Sardinia.

The two were given a letter of intent to the municipal administration committing to the sharing of ecological issues such as, for example, the planting of new trees.
Paolo and Sebastiano will return in a few months for the planting of trees with the children of the town's schools.
From Burcei, the journey will continue in the next 14 days with a visit to all Sardinian municipalities.
The Route 377 project belongs to the 377 Association together with the Bike Tour 4 Mori association.
Paolo Massenti, an amateur cyclist, will pedal along Sardinia assisted by a support vehicle led by Sebastiano Dessanay.
“The idea of the tour stems from the need to set up a cycling route that, starting from any of the 377 Sardinian municipalities, touches them all and then returns to the starting point . A circuit inclusive of all the municipalities of the island, its territories and its diversity, which can be traveled non-stop or in stages, by professionals and amateurs and bicycle enthusiasts. Leaving Cagliari on August 20, we will return to Cagliari on September 3, after exactly 14 days around the island ".
The Route 377 project symbolically unites all the centers of the island, large and small, coastal and mountain, and aims to shed a spotlight on the potential of cycle tourism and new cycle paths in Sardinia.
The initiative also has a strong ecological footprint : it intends to raise awareness among municipal administrations and citizens on the ecological issue of the fragility of the forest ecosystem and fires, a plague that year after year reduces the presence of trees in Sardinia.
For this, a letter will be delivered by hand in each municipality asking the municipal administration for a symbolic gesture: the commitment to plant one or more trees in its municipal territory in memory of the Route 377 cycling enterprise .
Along the itinerary traveled by Paolo Massenti, Sebastiano Dessanay will "bomb" some lands with "green ammunition" containing seeds that are easy to take root: a concrete gesture to revive the Sardinian territories.
