Art, science, and sustainability will be the focus of the three-day event organized by Fidapa at the Ex Casermette in Olbia, along with Lilli Mura. From April 10th to 12th, the premises on Via Mameli will host the event "Art Meets Botany," a project dedicated to environmental education and raising awareness of the value of biodiversity.
The event coincides with Green Week, promoted by Ambiente Mare Italia - AMI, a national partner of Fidapa. Promoted by the "Sustainable Growth" working group led by biologist Pina Contis, the initiative is part of the international theme "Inspire, Innovate, Empower, Transform: Together we shape a sustainable future." It offers a journey that combines art and science with the aim of encouraging the public to understand and protect nature.
At the heart of the project is the dialogue between botany and art through botanical watercolors, which convey the extraordinary beauty and, at the same time, the fragility of the plant world. "It is with profound pride and admiration that our section supports and celebrates Lilli Mura's botanical exhibition," says Daniela Cittadini, president of Fidapa Olbia. "Our mission is to enhance the talent and professionalism of women, and Lilli's work represents a perfect synthesis of scientific rigor, artistic sensitivity, and dedication. Her ability to observe nature is not just an exercise in style, but an act of love and respect for the biodiversity of our region."
Alongside the exhibition, there will be space for the stories of five nature pioneers, female figures who, between the 17th and 20th centuries, made significant contributions to scientific knowledge and the representation of the natural world.
