Illegal possession of weapons and mistreatment of animals.

These are the accusations at the bottom of the complaint remedied by a 57-year-old from Assemini , who fired several shots at a shepherd dog , "guilty" of having entered his land.

The dog, owned by a farmer who was grazing his flock in the Pabaluas area and who had strayed, was wounded by bullets to the abdomen and his condition is to be verified.

On the spot, after the shots, the carabinieri intervened, who ascertained that the 57-year-old had opened fire with a shotgun at the animal.

Following a search carried out in the shed in the man's land, the semi-automatic rifle used to injure the dog was then found. A compressed air rifle and other cartridges were also found in the same shed.

The 57-year-old, who was also found a gun and who had an expired firearms permit , was thus reported to the Cagliari Public Prosecutor's Office.

The weapons, on the other hand, were confiscated.
