The Municipality of Capoterra, in close collaboration with the regional civil protection operations center, has decided to evacuate approximately 120 residents of the homes closest to the sea in the Maddalena Spiaggia condominium.
The residents of the area (already partially flooded) affected by the measure should be relocated to the municipal gym, but their destination has yet to be determined.
The concern isn't about the rains: the threat is the rising sea level, accompanied by waves. The storm surge has yet to reach its peak, and there are fears that the water could enter homes.
