A step back in history to recall the Postal Journey, an event now in its 29th edition.

The event was presented in the conference room of the Tonnara di Stintino museum by the mayor Rita Vallebella, in the presence of the civil and military authorities and the councilor for the environment, Massimiliano Ledda. The initiative proposes every year the suggestive and symbolic delivery of the postal package which traveled on a lateen sailing vessel from Stintino to Porto Torres.

Tomorrow Saturday 27 July there will be the extraordinary opening of the Post Office, in via Cala D'Oliva, for the cancellation of mail that will be sent by sea with the "Postale".

On Saturday 3 August at 10am, at the Cormorano Marina pier, the historical re-enactment of the delivery of the postal bag by the Italian Post Office official to the mayor of Porto Torres, Massimo Mulas, will be repeated. The latter will deliver it to the commander of the "Postal", as happened in the past with Clemente Bonifacino who, with a "Buona Difesa" scale, established the first commercial connection.

Sometimes, when the sea did not allow travel, the postal bag was transported, in the absence of roads, on horseback or by a trusted person who went and returned from Porto Torres on foot along the coast. The commander of the Turritana port authority, Giuseppe Cannarile, after a brief greeting, will allow the postal service to travel towards Stintino. During the crossing it will be accompanied by other lateen sailing boats and other vessels belonging to the members of the Italian Naval League.
