A trick prepared with care and in detail which, for a woman from Cagliari, it was impossible to escape. The perpetrator of the scam managed to get into the victim's e-mail box and realized that the woman had just bought a car from a well-known dealership, some of which still had to pay for it. The man then prepared an email introducing himself, complete with an identity card, as an employee of the company and asking for the credit of 6,500 euros as a partial consideration for the sale. When, subsequently, the concessionaire asked for the real payment, the customer declared that she had already done so, providing a copy of the bank transfer. There it turned out that that Iban did not belong to the company.

The scammer, meanwhile, had had plenty of time to withdraw the amount received and close the account. The carabinieri of Sant'Antioco, however, set out on his trail and identified him as he had provided the necessary documents when the account was opened.
