Sardinia will have a gas supply and distribution network: "We are close to an agreement", is the announcement of the Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso, "thanks to joint work with Mase, with Minister Pichetto Fratin and the Region".
The project, the government representative says, "envisages the mooring of two regasification ships. A connection will then guarantee the supply of gas to the Sulcis area, starting from Eurallumina, so as to make its reopening possible".
Urso explains that «this is also a long-awaited result, a fundamental step for Sardinia, which will be able to ensure a continuous and low-cost gas supply, thus reducing the gap in energy costs compared to other areas of the country».
According to the minister, this would be the way to secure "the entire Portovesme site. I also think this could help to find a general agreement with Glencore. We have done our part with consistency and conviction. Now it is up to the company to do its part. We are confident that it will fully seize this opportunity".
