Fake documents for a new life, a luxury car - stolen and re-registered, again with false data - and lots of money.

This is how Marco Raduano lived as a fugitive, the boss of the Gargano mafia who escaped from Nuoro prison in February 2023 and was captured, almost a year later, by the Ros carabinieri.

The arrest took place in Aleria, near Bastia, in Corsica, while the fugitive was preparing for a gallant dinner with his lover.

These are some of the background details of the operation that put an end to his daring escape which lasted months, with the investigators now trying to reconstruct all the still incomplete puzzles, including that of the network of supporters, already partially identified, but which could still have some missing piece to fit.

As for the capture, it may have been a collaborator with the law who betrayed the boss.
