The dilemma of the Posidonia oceanica at Poetto: should it be removed or left on the sand?

The seagrass dilemma at Cagliari's Poetto beach. What to do with it? Remove it or leave it on the sand? A controversial issue, ranging from environmental concerns to tourism.

For now, the council will not proceed with the removal , while for the group leader in the city council Pierluigi Mannino « common sense is needed beyond hypocritical environmentalism».

The biologists, while understanding the reasons of those who work, underline: «Posidonia is useful for slowing erosion».
