On the evening of December 27th, a moment of intense participation and remembrance was experienced in the Cathedral of San Pietro in Tempio Pausania: the first edition of the sacred singing and music festival “Ricordo in Musica”, a tribute to Maestro Giovanni Maria Pasella.

The initiative, promoted by the San Pietro Apostolo Polyphonic Choir, was born as a gesture of gratitude to remember, one year after his passing, its founder and director, who passed away suddenly in Tempio Pausania on January 2, 2025. Only a few days earlier, the Maestro had conducted "his" choir in the cathedral during the celebration of Christmas Mass, leaving a lasting impression on the community. A composer and musician, Pasella also founded the Gallura Philharmonic Academy, making a significant contribution to the cultural growth of the area.

The evening featured performances by the Cathedral Polyphonic Choir, the Su Bubugnulu Polyphonic Choir of Luras, the Stella Maris Polyphonic Choir of Magomadas, and the Gabriel Choir, in a musical journey combining spirituality, technical rigor, and emotion. In attendance were family members, the parish priest, Don Efisio Coni, Mayor Gianni Addis, and Councilors Anna Paola Aisoni, Monica Liguori, and Elizabeth Vargiu. The audience was in large attendance, a sign of a strong connection with Maestro Pasella, a man of great artistic and human depth. Born in Calangianus, Giovanni Maria Pasella studied at the Dettori Academy in Tempio, and later specialized in music at the Luigi Canepa Conservatory in Sassari and the Giovanni Battista Martini Conservatory in Bologna.
