Three million euros to make the coastline between the Su Perdusemini tower, on Sant'Elia hill, and Marina Piccola accessible. The Zedda administration has approved a "technical and economic feasibility" project for a series of safety improvements in the area.
The funding comes from the Region. The project, presented by Councilor Yuri Marcialis , aims to implement "landslide mitigation measures along the entire slope from Sant'Elia to Marina Piccola" to allow swimmers and visitors access to the area. For some time, this stretch of coastline has been dotted with signs prohibiting access and swimming due to the risk of falling rocks from the rocky ridge.
Turning attention to the city center, another resolution approved an off-budget debt of €300,000 for work on the steps of the Bastione Saint Remy and inside the Sperone tunnel . Municipal technicians noted numerous damaged or vandalized steps on the steps, while in the tunnel, plaster was peeling from the walls due to water infiltrations. The City Council will have to decide on this last measure.
