Pieces of plaster detaching from buildings in the urban center of Porto Torres , yet another structural failure in the heart of the city. A widespread phenomenon that poses problems of decorum and responsibility towards the owners of buildings, buildings that require ordinary and extraordinary maintenance to protect public safety. In recent days, large fragments have fallen on the sidewalk of via Adelasia , in one of the narrow and usually very busy streets.

It happened on 25 May last, but the persistence of the situation prompted the mayor of Porto Torres, Massimo Mulas to adopt the urgent intervention ordinance, a provision which obliges the owners to immediately restore the cornice and make any other unsafe part of the building, with the execution of the consolidation and rehabilitation works of the parts, in order to avoid the risk of further possible subsidence. The firefighters had intervened for the fall from the ledge of huge portions of concrete that ended up on the sidewalk below.

The cornice itself shows evident cracks, cracks and swellings caused by the oxidation of the reinforcing rods. The team, who intervened on site, proceeded to remove some portions of concrete about to collapse and warned the property to take immediate action to restore safety conditions.
