Precarious hygienic conditions, risk to public safety and to the very people who settled there, ignoring the serious dangers present in the Serralonga-Pian di Luna area, in the Sorso countryside. The mayor, Fabrizio Demelas, signed the order to clear the nomad camp on land owned by a private individual.

The provision was issued today, Monday 17 March, following the inspections carried out last December and the report by the fire brigade which highlighted the presence of an old ruin in a state of decay and at risk of collapse, with inside the presence of a nucleus of ten people of Bosnian ethnicity, initially consisting of 6 adults and 4 children, as well as two campers. The report subsequently produced by the ASL of Sassari (29 January 2025), recorded an increase in adult occupants, approximately 20 people, and an unspecified number of minors . Furthermore, the critical health situation was highlighted due to the presence of a dangerous ruin, two open wells and piles of abandoned special waste.

The municipal administration has repeatedly ordered the owner of the land to restore the sanitary conditions by removing and disposing of all waste found in the area to protect public health. The provision of the mayor orders the owner of the area to immediately evacuate every vehicle and the structure used as a residence.

The ordinance establishes the obligation for the owner to carry out all the necessary activities to permanently remove the people who have settled in the Serralonga-Pian di Luna nomad camp, delimiting the area with a fence, so as to prevent access by unauthorized persons and prevent the situation from recurring.
