Bathing bans have been lifted along the entire Sorso coastline , a stretch of over a kilometre and a half where the parameters have returned to normal .
The latest samplings have revealed the conformity of the values also in the Pedramincina area , located between the descent into the sea number seven and the mouth of the Silis river. Mayor Fabrizio Demelas has signed the ordinance revoking the bathing ban also on this beach.
In recent days, the coastal closure has affected five beaches, such as the shorelines of Li Nibari, La Foce, Porchile and La Pagliastra, as well as Pedramincina. A 1,592-meter-long stretch, where last Sunday there was an excess of fecal bacteria, reasons for which a new sampling was scheduled for Monday, August 26.
The ordinance was made necessary following the discharges into the sea from the Rio Pedrugnanu, where the wastewater from the Sorso-Sennori consortium purifier flowed.
The heavy downpour of the last few days is said to have dragged debris to various points of the sea.
