A flight of hope, accompanied by doctors and the support of an entire community. The 14-year-old student from Solarussa who was injured on Saturday after diving into Torregrande when the seabed was too shallow , was transferred today to the Gemelli hospital in Rome. The young man suffered serious trauma to two vertebrae and his admission to the capital's facility is a further precaution in view of further treatment, it is not excluded that he may also undergo some delicate surgery.
In the meantime, the boy is still in a pharmacological coma to avoid any movement, even the slightest, that could compromise the situation . Tonight the community of Solarussa will meet at 9 pm in front of the Chiesa delle Grazie for a prayer vigil. "A spontaneous initiative, organized by the peers of the boy's mother," commented the mayor, Mario Tendas. "It's a delicate moment, we want to give a sign of closeness to the family and especially to the young student. Now we can only hope that everything goes well."
The fourteen-year-old was injured last Saturday: it was the last day of school and together with his classmates he had gone to Torregrande , then that dive into the too shallow seabed and the beginning of a nightmare that hopefully will end soon. In these days he was hospitalized at Brotzu in Cagliari.
