Fourteen wind turbines, in a project presented to the Municipality of Sinnai in recent days. They are planned in the former Casa Coppi, in the Santu Barzolu area, in Tasonis. Mayor Tarcisio Anedda raises the alarm. The dossier has just arrived on your desk. But in Sinnai next Saturday and Sunday we will vote for the new mayor and the new city council. It will therefore be the new administrators who will have to deal with the case. Meanwhile, there is alarm among many citizens against the mega project that has been launched: 14 wind turbines at least 150 meters high. Let's hear from the three candidates for mayor of Sinnai. Three voices substantially against this intervention.
Aurora Cappai
«For a Municipality it is a duty to rebel against a wicked and, to most people, unknown state vision, which goes beyond any dialogue with local communities: 14 wind turbines in no particular order on the territory of Sinnai and diluted in areas with agricultural destination, what's the point? But where is the regional programming? I hope that the appropriate assessments are made. Because this is not a question of Skyline. Here it is a question of an extended landscape that is experienced every day. Always unchanged. Where any landscape change has been monitored since 2006. On the edge of a SCI and bird protection area. In places of historical and archaeological value. We are not against renewable energy but I believe that specific areas should be chosen in which to allocate the energy infrastructure. We still hope for a regional intervention that defines appropriate areas for wind power and blocks individual initiatives. It is not reasonable to scatter shovels across the entire territory without any prior planning and leaving the Municipalities alone to defend their territories. An arrogance never seen before. In the "EIA" procedure, the Municipalities are recognized as having a labile consultative role. Which benefits speculative interventions by private individuals."
Aldo Lobina
«We are not in principle against renewable energy, as long as their use is compatible with our territory. And with its future use. This is because we are only custodians of it. We inherited it from our ancestors, but we borrowed it from our children and grandchildren. Having said this, there is also a problem of costs and benefits. Who benefits? Who enriches the energy produced? We are concerned not only for our territory, but also for that of our island, which is rich in sun and wind and enchanting landscape beauty. We are already a colony due to the military servitude that occupies much of our land, we would not even want to become a colony of energy servitude. We are against wind turbines and we would like photovoltaics to be widespread on the roofs of our homes. We do not know the project of the request received by the Municipality of Sinnai, however before making a decision on the matter we would like to study, investigate and understand. Our rights must be defended intelligently. Not with impulsive demagogic stances. We are against in principle certain speculations which, despite an apparent advantage for some of us, risk taking away a lot from future generations. It requires reflection and judgment. And in any case certain decisions must be shared with the population, in compliance with the laws and naturally with the powers delegated to each community on this island of Sardinia."
Barbara Pusceddu
«No to wind energy speculation in our territories. In line with what has been proposed in these hours by ANCI Sardinia, with the Coalition "Another Sinnai with Maria Barbara Pusceddu" we make the commitment to ensure that our Municipality also defends its territory from the risk of imposed energy colonialism that wants to mow down its cultural and economic identity and compromising development. We undertake to support shared actions to bring the voice of citizens to the various institutional levels and actively participate in the construction of a regional legislative path which will have among its fundamental points the right of territories to self-determination, the defense of our most important asset constituted by defense of the environment and landscape, the in-depth study of what is really necessary for citizens and businesses in terms of energy. We will always and forcefully reiterate that we are in favor of a fair energy transition, regulated and participated by local communities."
