There was no excess of self-defense, but it was an attempted murder that left its victim forever in a wheelchair . For this reason, the preliminary hearing judge of the Court of Nuoro, Mauro Pusceddu, sentenced Daniele Mura, a 22-year-old from Siniscola, to six years of imprisonment and the payment of 200 thousand euros of provisional money, judged with the abbreviated procedure .

The night of December 1, 2023, Mura stabbed fellow countryman Gianluca Dalu, 30, in the back at the end of a party that risked turning into a tragedy . The prosecutor Ireno Satta reconstructed the facts, having requested a sentence of 9 years, later reduced to 6 due to the choice of the abbreviated trial. According to the prosecution, Mura took a knife from a barbecue, threatened his friends brandishing the weapon and finally hit Dalu , who joined the civil action with his lawyer Andrea Soddu. Once he had wounded his opponent, Mura allegedly taunted his victim while he was bleeding on the ground .

The fight took place outside Mura's house, where a private party was taking place to which Dalu had shown up with two friends . Immediately after the attack, Mura ran away, but turned himself in shortly after, accompanied by his father, confessing to the police that he had reacted to an attack . A thesis supported by Mura's lawyer, Salvatore Asole, who asked for the crime to be reclassified from attempted murder to excessive self-defense.

The victim, after the attack, was admitted to the hospital in Sassari and underwent a delicate surgical operation. However, the consequences of the injuries suffered will mark his life forever due to the loss of the use of his legs .
