The daughter of the town's first mayor has turned 100. It is Antonina Pisanu, a housewife, who is also Sindia's grandmother, who celebrated together with her two daughters, Maria Luisa and Angela, then with the mayor Franco Scanu, relatives and friends and members of the police force.

Antonia Pisanu has been widowed for some time by her husband, the breeder Raffaele Daga. A lucid and lively woman, who wanted to wear the mayor's tricolor sash, to remember her father, Michele Pisanu, who was the first mayor of the town, immediately after the end of the Second World War.

For her hundredth birthday, the woman cut the cake and received the authorities and friends at the home of her daughters, with whom she lives. Brother Giovanni is also on the right track, as he recently turned 98.

Sindia therefore joins the other towns of the Marghine where there are numerous centenarians, such as in Macomer, Bolotana, Lei, Silanus, Bortigali, Borore and Birori. «It is a day of celebration for our town - says the mayor Franco Scanu - but zia Antonina Pisanu represents our community among the centenarians of Marghine».
