The victim is a 64-year-old woman
He allegedly tried to cross the tracks by passing under the closed bars of the level crossing: a move that cost the life of a 64-year-old woman overwhelmed and killed by a train this morning in Serramanna.
It happened in via Torino, 200 meters from the town station, just before 11am.
The intervention of the helicopter rescue was useless: there was no escape for the woman.
According to the first reconstructions, a person on a bicycle would have passed the victim and his sister near the level crossing. The 64-year-old would have been overwhelmed in an attempt to save her sister, who would have imprudently crossed, perhaps deceived by the passage of the bicycle.
The railway police investigate the dynamics. Carabinieri and scientific police are also on site.
