Three drug dealers arrested in just a few hours by the Cagliari State Police.
In an initial operation, the Flying Squad's Hawks arrested a Filipino man , believed to be responsible for dealing shaboo . The operation took place in the heart of Cagliari's city center: during a surveillance operation, the officers noticed suspicious activity inside a home and promptly conducted a house search.
The man tried to get rid of the "crystals," but the officers managed to recover a quantity equal to 540 doses, which, if placed on the market, could have fetched several thousand euros and affected a significant number of consumers, including very young people.
Shaboo (or shabu) is a synthetic drug based on methamphetamine hydrochloride, a highly stimulant and very dangerous. It is also known as "ice" or "crystal meth" due to its crystalline appearance. Its effects include rapid addiction, psychosis, paranoia, aggression, and severe brain damage.
The man was arrested and placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities, who, after the validation hearing, granted the suspect time to present his defense. Investigations are continuing to trace the supply chain and the local distribution network.
During a further anti-drug operation conducted by personnel from the Widespread Crime Section of the Flying Squad in the San Michele district, two more people were arrested and approximately three hundred grams of hashish and marijuana were seized.
The operation took place in Piazza Is Maglias, a square known for its high incidence of petty crime. During a surveillance operation, officers witnessed a drug deal between a man and a woman, both known to law enforcement for their prior drug dealing convictions.
The woman, immediately arrested, was found in possession of a block of hashish weighing approximately 100 grams, as well as two doses of cocaine ready for sale.
At the home of the man, a Bangladeshi citizen legally residing in Italy, additional narcotic material was found: 40 grams of marijuana divided into doses, 150 grams of hashish in fragments of various weights and packaging, as well as tools used to package and sell the doses.
