About ten days ago they reported to the mayor Gigi Puddu a new landfill along the country road behind the archaeological area of Cuccuru Nuraxi, on the outskirts of Settimo San Pietro. The report was immediately forwarded to the local police who, at the end of the investigations, managed to identify the people who disposed of their household waste in this way.

They were immediately fined and forced to clean up the site.

«Unfortunately – Mayor Puddu commented – it is not always so easy to trace who does not respect the environment. We ask for everyone's cooperation, because only in this way will it be possible to defend our campaigns. Perhaps it is useful to remember that, apart from cases like this, in which the culprit was forced to clean up at his own expense, in many others, unfortunately, the clean-up costs fall on the municipal budget and therefore on all citizens through the waste tax. ».

Just in recent days, the problem of illegal dumping (in this case of Su Pardu) was at the center of a motion presented by councilor Davide Piga and concluded with the commitment to involve the Municipalities of Settimo and Selargius, the metropolitan city and the prefecture.
