The Municipal Council of Settimo San Pietro has approved the executive project (final design phase) called “Recovery and redevelopment of the road system of the historic center”, included in the PUI Metropolitan City of Cagliari "Sustainable Ring", financed under the PNRR Mission 5. An expenditure of one million and 200 thousand euros is expected.

This project includes the redevelopment of the road with the elimination of bitumen and its replacement with granite slabs and stone blocks, in part of via Aldo Moro (section intersection via Repubblica and up to Montegranatico) and in via Parrocchia, with a new rainwater management system and new underground services.

Furthermore, the redevelopment of Piazza Don Secchi, along via Parrocchia, the rear access point to Piazza Giovanni XXIII, is planned. The works are expected to start soon. In the same meeting of the Council, resolution number 115 was also approved regarding the Technical and Economic Feasibility Project (first phase of the design) for the restructuring intervention of Montegranatico, which has a financial framework of 865 thousand euros.

The aim of this intervention is to recover the building, which is currently dilapidated in some of its parts, to create a public infrastructure that will constitute a terminal for the various agri-food chains, for the purpose of exhibition, promotion and marketing. The direct effect that we want to achieve is to encourage the development of the territorial entrepreneurial fabric and collaboration between companies, the creation of common synergies in terms of visibility, promotion and marketing. Essentially, the aim is to convert the Montegranatico building into a modern multipurpose space that will constitute a centre for the exhibition, promotion and marketing of typical agri-food products, but which at the same time is available for a variety of public occasions for meeting and exchange, even different ones. For these reasons, the project intends to guarantee the greatest flexibility and ease of use of the spaces.
