The funeral of Gabriel Manuel Montis , the thirty-nine-year-old from Settimo San Pietro who died two days ago in the sea off Capo Malfatano, in Teulada, while fishing from a rock, took place this afternoon in Settimo.
Having ended up in the water due to a wave, he drowned, making the rescuers' attempts to save his life useless.
This afternoon, the funeral celebrated by the parish priest, Don Giuseppe Orrù, was also attended by the victim's colleagues, security guards, who gathered around his family in an atmosphere of great grief.
The words of the parish priest were touching, as he addressed Montis' family and said that Gabriel is now in heaven. "He will be a comfort to you too, next to the Lord who welcomed him."
