Two young men, aged 20 and 25, were arrested late yesterday evening by Carabinieri officers from the Sestu station, with the support of the Operations and Radiomobile Unit of the Quartu Sant'Elena Company. The two are believed to be responsible for an attempted aggravated theft of clothing from the H&M store in the La Corte del Sole shopping center.
The operation was triggered after a report from shopping center staff, who had noticed two individuals lurking suspiciously among the stores. Officers, already conducting a patrol in the area, immediately entered the facility and began a series of checks at various stores. Shortly thereafter, they surprised the two men inside the clothing store. They were carrying several items of clothing, from which they had already removed the anti-theft tags in an attempt to escape without paying.
The merchandise, with a total value of over €200, was immediately recovered and returned to the store's managers. Following the standard procedures and without resistance from the suspects, the two young men were arrested and taken to the holding cells of the San Bartolomeo Carabinieri Station.
