Provincial Road 15 between Selargius and Settimo has become a bottleneck, with thousands of cars crisscrossing it day and night. The problem is the section of roadway, which is impossible to widen. This decades-old situation leaves the road too narrow to handle today's stifling traffic.

According to the mayor of Selargius, Gigi Concu, "the solution is tied to the entire context of the 554. It would be possible to create a one-way system between Via del Lavoro and the parallel Via Torricelli, with traffic heading towards Settimo along Via del Lavoro and towards the 554 along Via Torricelli, which should be connected to the 554 with a roundabout junction."

For several months, Sinnai's traffic councilor, Cristiano Spina, has been proposing his own solution, which doesn't exclude the one proposed by the mayor of Selargius. Spina proposes repairing, securing, and resurfacing the dirt road that extends from the bend near the Sinnai pine forest to state road 387. From there, it's possible to reach state road 554, bypassing all the traffic lights.

This way, Sinnai drivers would no longer have any interest in driving along provincial road 15, freeing it from a large percentage of cars.
