This time, the poisoned treat scare has spread to the Su Planu neighborhood of Selargius. The reports were made by several residents of the neighborhood, and all trace back to the children's park : "One dog is dead and one is dying," wrote a local resident. This phenomenon was also confirmed by other people who frequent the municipal green space. "The cameras are in operation and the local police have been notified," the City Council assures, "so they can review the footage needed to identify the perpetrator and take appropriate action."

The same alarm was raised a few months ago in the Santa Lucia district, particularly in the area between Via Satta and Via Angioy, but the suspicious meatballs were also found in the bushes along dog-walking routes.

The backdrop is the animal slaughter of a few years ago, when poisoned baits were even thrown into the courtyards and gardens of the villas on Viale Vienna, Via Deledda, and Via Cambosu. At that time, the issue reached the City Council with an urgent question from minority representative Riccardo Cioni, who called for an increase in surveillance cameras in the neighborhood.
