The intervention should have been routine, to serve him with a document related to a separate criminal case. However, when the Carabinieri arrived at the home, a twenty-year-old man from Selargius appeared nervous and—more importantly—the smell of hashish wafted through the apartment. This led to the arrest of the young man, already known to law enforcement and suspected of drug possession with intent to sell.

According to a press release, the Carabinieri conducted a personal and home search and uncovered the drugs. Inside the residence, they found a total of over half a kilo of cocaine, approximately 24 grams of hashish, a precision scale, and €520 in cash, believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing . All the material was immediately seized and will be submitted to the Criminal Records Office of the Court of Cagliari.

After the ritual formalities, the young man returned home and is now under house arrest , awaiting the fast-track hearing scheduled for this morning.
