Accident in the early afternoon today on state road 554, at kilometer 3 in the municipality of Selargius in the direction of Monserrato. For reasons yet to be ascertained, a car overturned.

The local police, Anas, the Carabinieri, a fire brigade vehicle and a 118 ambulance intervened on the scene . The affected stretch of road was closed to traffic for about two hours, with a diversion at kilometre 2,900 onto the state road 131 Dir at the "Ospedali" exit. On the 131 Dir, in the direction of Cagliari, the exit ramp towards the 554 in the direction of Quartu was closed . The reopening took place in the afternoon and traffic is now back to normal.

There were no other passengers besides the driver, who was unharmed and was extracted from the wreckage by firefighters. The police and Anas teams managed traffic to allow the road to be reopened quickly : disruption to traffic was inevitable, with long lines reaching the median axis exiting Cagliari.
