Red and white ribbon at the Bobo Beach kiosk in Costa Rei (Muravera) indicating that it has been closed since yesterday and must be dismantled immediately. This was done yesterday morning by the traffic police of the Municipality of Muravera and the Carabinieri who executed the criminal decree of the Cagliari Prosecutor's Office according to which the kiosk must be demolished.
The measure arrives just before the month of August and brings the owner, Roberta Carmellini, to her knees: «From one day to the next I find myself without work and with a disabled child to care for. And all because of a bureaucratic quibble."
Carmellini, in fact, received two demolition orders between 2020 and 2022. She opposed the first one, while not the second "but because it was identical to the first and in good faith I didn't think I had to oppose it again". Another Costa Rei kiosk that finds itself in the same situation objected within the established deadlines and won: it can remain erected, at least until it holds the concession.
«It seems like bureaucratic obstinacy to me – repeats Carmellini – after I have worked with the utmost respect for the rules for 18 years». The lawyers played their last card, the appeal to the Supreme Court, highlighting "the absolute good faith of the owner" and the "manifest illogicality of the provision".
