The technicians of the "Iscola" regional project unit will be in Soleminis next Monday, or Tuesday at the latest, for an inspection of the school complexes in via Sirios and via Stazione. The first, home to the middle school, has been closed since November 3rd due to structural problems, while the second was declared unusable last Tuesday due to significant water leaks from the roof. Only after the checks will the renovation program be decided.

Until the works are completed, the 111 pupils from the middle and elementary schools of Soleminis will have to attend lessons in Serdiana. The decision was made after the inspection carried out yesterday by the vice-principal of the Istituto Comprensivo Alessandro Solla together with the managers of the Technical Office and the mayor of Serdiana Maurizio Cuccu. Solution also welcomed by the parents of the students who met the mayor of Soleminis Fedele La Delfa yesterday.
The Serdiana building is able to accommodate all eight Soleminis classes (five elementary and three middle schools). It will take a few days to set up the classrooms and move the furnishings and allow the children to return to school. In this way, extended time, canteen service and use of the gym will also be guaranteed. An emergency situation that will last until the end of the school year. From September at least one of the two Soleminis schools should be available again.
«The buildings need major renovations after years of neglect. We aim to reopen the primary school in time for the start of the new school year - says mayor La Delfa - the intervention in the multipurpose center in via Sirios which has structural damage is more complex".
