A family in Sassari was acquitted of sexual assault against a minor. Today in court, during a summary hearing, preliminary hearing judge Sergio De Luca ordered the acquittal because the charges were not proven against a 75-year-old man and two children from Sassari over 40, the former's children.
One of the two, a partner of the injured party's mother, was accused of having engaged in sexual acts, including full-blown acts, with a minor suffering from a condition of psychological and physical inferiority from 2017 to 2023. Similar charges were leveled against the parent and his brother.
In the hearing, prosecutor Maria Paola Asara requested an acquittal with a doubtful formula, believing that there was no evidence to support the charges.
Defense lawyers Elisabetta Udassi and Luigi Esposito requested a full acquittal for their clients, while Walter Pani, a lawyer representing the civil party at the Cagliari Bar Association, requested a conviction and a provisional sum of €30,000.
